There are sayings among Godville gods that sometimes pets can be even more interesting than the heroes themselves. Therefore, having a pet suddenly die or get replaced could be an unpleasant experience, which is not something that we want. So let’s make it better!
First of all, pets will no longer die. From now on, when a pet saves the life of his master, he won’t die as he would have before. Instead he’ll just be knocked unconscious. The hero can then heal him within 60 hours (same rules as before), but even if he fails to do so, the pet won’t be lost. He will come back to his senses on his own, but this time as a more cautious and down-to-earth animal. An animal that doesn’t care about levels, pantheon competition, battle nicknames and has no desire to sacrifice his life, preferring just to simply be with his master.
In other words:
- if all you wanted was to see your hero with a friendly companion, you can now forget about the burden of resurrection and just enjoy the game! The pet will stay with his hero forever.
- if for some reason you care about pet levels and pantheon position – nothing changes (except the terminology and new UI feature showing the time left for pet healing).
- if you want to get rid of a levelless pet, read ahead: once in awhile, your hero will take a quest to bring his companion to a vet for a routine checkup. If you cancel this quest, the hero will set the pet free.
Other news:
- for those playing in a web browser – check out the greetings on the top left area of the page. There might be something interesting up there!
- the most recent iPhone app update has a shiny new feature that should make influencing more convenient. Make sure to install it.
- recent advancements in heroic brain science have finally taught the heroes to turn profit on the old stuff left after an equipment upgrade. It’s never too late to make heroes smarter, right?
UPD: There are no changes for pet medals – they are given upon reaching level 30. As with all other achievements, once it’s given it can be never taken away.
Btw, we’re accepting submissions for new monsters, that can be tamed. Post it right here, in comments (one pre-condition: they must be chosen from the monsters that already in the game).
I’d love to tame a Thesaurus Rex. Just saying.
I see a lot of people commentinh that they want the cost of reviving lowered, and would like to point out that once your temple is finished you get to earn a lot more money, and so also revive your pets more easily. Lets not make everything easy to do at once, and rather keep some perks in the game for thosa that really work for them. An easier way to get rid of useless pets is something i can agree with, however
The w3i.iq5.fraud as a pet
oh great, every single pet I’ve had has died (broken neck syndrome after many levels) and now after 29 levels I am 1 level away from achieving the medal and instead of falling in front of a monster and breaking it’s neck like all the others have done it’s just given up on levelling, so I’ve got to wait for some kind of vet quest to appear now, lose the pet and get another and start all over again? So I will lose it all again at level 29 no doubt. Pointless, really pointless.
Not sure if it has been mentioned but you hero’s can abandon their level-less pets by cancelling the quest to extend pet registration along with the vet check-up quest.
Gummi Bear, and Godville Admin! Lmao
Superb Owl as suggestion for pet.
My pet died, ahem was knocked unconscious, at level 29 (disaster right?), after 57 hours of doing everything I could to ressurect, it was to no avail, my blasted hero would spend all of his gold on beer everytime he got close enough for revival. I leave the game alone and he resurrected my pet all on his own! a mere 12 hours later my pet got to level 30, and I’ve got my medal. Whoop! Now it doesn’t matter if Scratchy loses his levels, and to be fair, he’s been with me for 6 months, I’d be gutted if I had to bury him. I live my fake electronic pet, it’s like a tamagotchi without the beeping.
Gummi Bear as pet, please! They sound so cute and squeezable!
Thank you, Corran Horn! I was always waiting for the, “Take your pet to the vet” quest and never got it. After reading your comment I realized I was 99% complete with “extend pet registration”, cancelled it and now everything is perfect.
Ug now I have to wait for some quest. PLEASE make ressurection price lower, and although I do love Stitch I need a pet release button!!!
I think the release process of a dead pet is rather annoying. Let us get rid of it easily if we want to. But don’t make ressurection easier. As someone pointed out, there has to be challenges throughout the game, not just in the beginning. :)
A giant Eagle would be quite awesome. Maybe the hero would be able to fly on it?
I seriously need a pet release button nibbler is cool but really useless now
I want the Atomic Kitten as a pet!
Didn’t realize I could cancel the extend pet registration quest do ditch my pet and missed it twice.now I can’t seem to get it again. Please either let us let them go on our own or make the quest come again sooner! This is irritating.
I would really like to have a Cash Cow as a pet. It would be nice if it had the ability to randomly generate some coins every day. :D
Make the processto get rid of a level-less pet easier. My bear was at level 27, and my phone died for 3 days. Came back to game to find out he has lost all levels. Suks..
If your pet is no longer able to level up. And you wish to get a new pet.(and you wish to let it go.) The quest “extend pet regestration” tell your hero to “abandon quest” (making sure the hero is not busy) also you may have to tell your hero a few times before they let the pet go.
Ok. Let me understand. I was unable to save Rex, my bipolar bear and now he is back but without all the personality. Is there any way I can get my companion back with all the excitement we shared?
