Chapter One: Godville
Leif Hvity was born on the ship of a great viking king, the Frost Blight. Life would have been easy if he had not been born to slaves. Leif was destined to become a lowly oar puller, like his father before him. Slaves on the Frost Blight were put to hard labor and given little food. Few children survived, but Leif did. In fact, he thrived.
One stormy night, the Frost Blight crashed into some rocks and sank, killing everyone on board except for Leif. As the sole survivor and hoping for rescue but unsure of who would find him, he found and dressed himself in the Frost Blight’s captain’s clothes and crawled ashore before passing out. When he woke up, he was in a hero’s house, when the hero saw Leif he explained that he had seen the captain unconscious and brought him to Godville. The hero offered him a beer and some buns, made a quick remark about a quest and a temple, and hastily left the dwelling. Leif thanked the hero as he walked out the door, and then took time to say a prayer of thanks to his god, Jarlbank, whom he believed was the reason he survived. Inspired by the fervor of the hero that rescued him, Leif decided that he, too, would build a temple; a temple of gold in order to thank Jarlbank for saving him and to help spread the word of Jarlbank’s greatness.
Apparently there was little need of ship’s captains in Godville. In order to get money for gold bricks beer, and on the side gold bricks, Leif found it necessary to become a questing hero. On one of his adventures, Leif met a dragon and decided that his crew needed a member.
He bluntly said, “you are now a member of the Frost Blight crew!”
The dragon smiled and torched the hero, resulting in his death. Jarlbank revived Leif as, since the demise of the Frost Blight, he was the only follower and Jarlbank liked Leif’s idea of building a temple.
When Leif was resurrected and back in Godville, he had a good long think and decided that the life of a solitary hero had a down side. If no one else would join him he would have to join someone else. Someone Else refused to let Leif join him, but then the viking saw a group of heroes riding off on a quest shouting “Ni!” as they went. Leif ran up to the group and asked if he could join them.
One of the heroes replied, “You may join our ranks if you find us… a shrubbery!”
Leif immediately set of on a quest to find a shrubbery. Shortly after, he came across an ad that read, “Arena fighters wanted! Great rewards! Join now and receive a FREE shrubbery after just three fights!” Leif wasted no time. Grabbing his battle axe, he rushed to the arena. He mowed down three heroes on his path to the prize and, after being awarded the green greatness, dragged it to the great hall of the Ni! sayers and became a member of the illustrious Knights who say Ni guild.
Leif Hvity’s hard work in the guild did not go unnoticed. He soon became Arya Drotningu’s apprentice. Leif spent all his efforts trying to learn as much as he could from this wonderful heroine, learning much about the guild, the arena, quests, and brick melting. Leif returned to his quests and his original goal, to build a temple for Jarlbank, smarter than ever.
Chapter Two: The Maze
Outside the Knights who say Ni’s guild hall, there is a staircase. That staircase leads to a maze, a maze full of deadly traps monsters and a pink puffball creatures. Leif was interested by the maze and decided to explore and learn the tricks of it. This is not an easy task, as almost no one else is stupid enough to accompany him, so Leif tricked invited people into the maze with him. After learning much (and after emerging from the guild’s medic tent), Leif started adding new traps to the maze. Will Leif become one with the maze? It could be, as he has already developed a new attitude, but is it for the better?
