Hero's Chronicles

So bloody is my body from the last battle that I have to strip off my clothes. I am still trembling, my hunger is wild and I must bathe. First I stumble over to where I dropped my sack, I rummage around til I find what I’m looking for. With a song in my head to keep my mind off the pain, I hit two rocks together until I make a spark big enough to light the pages from an old diary. Feeling like a long forgotten caveman who has dicovered fire for the first time, I shout with a deep joy as the fire flared. Then thanked the God I pray to for giving me all that I need. After my bath in the river, I washed then hung my clothes to dry. Carefully dressing as not to start recent cuts bleeding again. Fighting that evil thing was bad enough, then I had to kill, skin, gut and clean my dinner. A large rib is sharpened on a rock then used as a spear to cook the meat over my fire. I look over at my bear. He let me ride his back for miles while I recovered enough to stay conscious. Where would I be without my constant companion? Baloo and I eat well tonight. Too much time has passed since we have been able to trap, ambush, spear or rock something to sustain us. I would wake him for a bath, but I don’t have the heart to disturb him now. It is so dark I can hardly see his form laying by the huge rock to my left. He’s a behemoth beast I almost killed a few months ago. I could not stand the look in his eyes. Then I did everything I could to save him and get him heathy again. I left him one night while he slept. He found me the next day and followed me from a distance for a week. I swear he laughed at me yesterday when I tripped. Funny how our choices make such a big difference to just one life. When the sun comes up, I will have a look around to see where he has brought me. For now I need sleep. Deep, long and healing sleep. Stretching out next to my bear my eyes feel heavy and soon sleep takes me.

Godville you say? 14:35: Dear my Lady, most omniscient, beneficent, and unpredictable, whose existence was, is, and forever shall be eternal and interminable; the delight of my eyes and the song of my heart, whose wisdom flows like a waterfall unto… I forgot what I was going to say. That Is what I said when I walked up to her. It feels like like only yesterday….she was sitting on an ancient and gnarled tree stump. Long brown hair with golden red hints. Long flowing purple dress and no shoes. I forgot what I was saying because my line to impress her her was stopped short when her eyes met mine. They spoke words to my heart and to my head. Then I noticed that her lips were not moving! Stunned I took several steps backwards. It was then she laughed. Just as Baloo had done. There was something about the look in her eyes that put me at ease. And made me want to do anything for her. Long story short, she is my Goddess. There is no way I am ever going to give her up or let her down. Now we don’t always see eye to eye and that is sometimes a problem. But she is always there when I am in need. Simply put, I am miseralble with her but would not change a single step. But, 20:26: I would do anything for you, Great One, especially if it’s easy.

18:50: I was about to be killed by the Arrgh-onaut when a hooded skeleton appeared out of nowhere and caught me by the collar with his scythe, dragging me to safety.

I guess that it was not my day OR he was paying me back for all those times I gave him directions! 14:05: Baloo suddenly flew into a rage and breathed fire at the opponent. We were all shocked, even Baloo himself. What other hidden talents does my pet have? Could that skill have come from the hooded man scratching Baloo on his head? Maybe it was from the time the same hooded man used his scythe to pull me from death, before my time? Then me resting on his back for so long? So…with his powers and my Goddess we go off to quest then go forth to build her a mighty temple. Hold on, I’ts going to be a bumpy ride! 15:59: Did I just see Baloo rushing at the monster growling “There can be only one!?” The End for now.
