Semper Fi !!!!
I was created on 567 e.g., by the Wise and Great Devildog.
HIS story and why HE created me is goes like this.
Devil Dogs is the name given to Marines by a great enemy, many years ago. They said the Marines fought like Dogs from Hell. The Great One is an ‘old’ MARINE who transcended HIS former life to become a GOD. The Great One earned the name and decided HE was now Devildog, since HE fought as a Proud Warrior for the U.S.M.C.
After HE became a GOD, HE saw the evil loose in the land of Godville, and knew that a HERO who was pure of heart was needed to rid this land of evil. HE had the power and so HE created me, from magic clay, steel, gunpowder, lots of beer and a few drops of HIS Blood, to drive EVIL from the land of Godville.
All MARINES are great Warriors, they have a kind heart and a Great Belief in their GOD.
HE tells me that a MARINE is trained to Adapt, Improvise and Overcome. HE says that a MARINE always protects the Innocent and the Weak. The MARINES battle cry is “Semper Fi”, which means in a very old language, “Always Faithful”. HE tells me I always have to be Faithful to God and Country, and to be a PROUD MARINE. HE says, “Once a MARINE, Always a MARINE”.
I have looked upon the face of The Great One. HIS hair is gray and HIS eyes have a far-way look. But HE is kind to me, and helps me as much as HE can.
Someday I hope to be like HIM. To earn my EGA.
HE tells me that MARINES never die, they just go and guard the gates of HEAVEN.
SEMPER FI to all UNITED STATES MARINES, Past, Present, and Future.
From the Personal Diary of Recruit Marine
578 g.e. – Today I earned my EGA !! My Lord tells me I am no longer a Recruit, but he likes the name an We are going to keep it.
600 e.g. – Early this morning I gained a new very special friend, his name is Gleep. He is a Rocky Raccoon. He is going to make a wonderful pet. (Or am I his pet?) We will see who gets trained first. He is young, but I think he will be a wonderful companion on my long Quests. I sure hope he gets house broke soon, he makes such a mess at times.
606 e.g. – Recruit Marine 20th level adventurer, member of the “ Knights who say Ni” guild, with the motto, “oooRAH!!!!, Ni! Ni! Ni! ”,stands at the 1st position in the patheon of creation under the vigilant supervision of the god Devildog. The hero is a true beer cooled, hard hitting, bullet biting Marine. He feels no pain, and is willing to die, if the price is right.
629 e.g. – My pet is full of surprises. It looks like Gleep has tamed a flea! Now he’s trying to encourage it.
630 e.g. – My pet is full of surprises. It looks like Gleep has tamed a flea! Now he’s trying to teach it some tricks.
631 e.g. – Laid down under a tree to die from severe wounds. Came back to my senses as Gleep performed CPR on me.
631 e.g. – What’s that, Gleep? You say the Solar Bear fell down the well?
631 e.g. – Suddenly, there was news about a golden calf grazing in a field near Godville. Omnipotent One, was that your handiwork? I took this opportunity and declared it a sacred symbol of the “Knights who say Ni” guild.
632 e.g. – I perished in battle as a true hero. Drain Snake, I’ll be back!
~ Hm… I wonder, will I be resurrected wearing clothes or naked and why?
~ Lying here thinking about death, like I have anything else to do, being dead and all. Where are you, Great One?
~ {+I was dead for almost 6 minutes. It seemed like a lifetime! This has been a very long day, Thanks Great One for believing in me enough to resurrect me!+}
633 e.g. – My pet is full of surprises. It looks like Gleep has tamed a flea! Now he’s trying to punish it.
635 e.g. – Increased to 12 level my “somersault squatting” skill after long and arduous training!
638 e.g. – It’s been a while since anything bad has happened. Which usually means I’m way overdue for trouble.
639 e.g. – Tripped over a dead hero. Sued him for injuries sustained in the accident, and won 489 coins in compensation.
639 e.g. – Met a madman. We decided to temporarily switch roles for a laugh but strangely no one seemed to notice…
640 e.g. – Soaring up into the air in a beam of colorful light, Gleep started to look bigger and stronger. Hmm, there isn’t any reason to fear for my life, is there? (My pet is now at level 10)
642 e.g. – I almost drowned trying to save my reflection in the water.

Hello to the Knight Who Say Ni! And all of my friends in Godville. No this is not a voice from the grave, though if you are reading this, something happened to me and I am gone. I used my Dragon software to set aside a note for you all. It was good practice in using the software. I then used a website to send an email to my wife if I had not logged in for 30 days. I guess it has been at least 30 days. It contained a file location and file names on my computer for a set of letters I left for my wife and kids and of course, my friends. The letter to my friends in Godville was done so she could copy and past it in the forums. You will also notice I had her change my motto, so that everyone knows who that wondering hero really is, a Knight Who Says Ni! Plus I am going to have her post this letter to my Chronicles so as long as my hero wonders, everyone will know his story. I don’t know how long I was missing from your ranks, because I can’t see the future. But I do know it would have to have been at least a month. I am hoping it has been years and I have made many new friends as well kept in touch with all of my old friends. I made friends from many Guilds, and many right here in KWSN. I was not a young kid, but became friends with many much younger people, both men and women. Yes, even you younger people are men and women. Calling you kids or boys and girls just doesn’t seem right. You all earned my respect and deserved that respect. I know that all of you are from many different country’s, different religions, and different backgrounds, but you are all family to this old Marine. I got involved in Godville, because it seem like a place where every one from all over the world could be friends. I had seen enough war and death when I was younger. That is something I hope you younger people will never have to see. I don’t think I ever told all of you I spent 13 months in South Vietnam. I was 18 years old and saw and did things no one should ever see or do. I have spent the rest of my life reliving those 13 months. I know many of you have heard me say there is nothing you can’t do or nothing you can’t overcome in life. I still stand behind that. If you want it bad enough, you can do it. I never got rid of my demons, but I fought them every night and never gave up. I spent a many years trying to get it together, and I failed a lot in those years, 3 wives all left me because THEY couldn’t handle my private hell in my head. But I always held on and made my working life work well. I always adapted, improvised, and overcame at my job. My health started to fail when I was 32. I had a heart attack and once again should have died, but cheated death again. By 1997, I had overcome 18 heart attacks and my 3rd divorce. I was now officially retired and disabled, never to work again. I drifted around, lived with family members and lived on my SSD checks. Then I had a stroke a couple of years later. It wasn’t too bad and I was given PT, OT as well as Speech therapy. The Speech gal was this good looking English lass. She had this long blonde hair, beautiful smile and accent that melted my brain like it was butter. I only worked with her for about a week, but it was a week that stuck in my head. I wanted a date with her so bad. I just wanted to her her talk to me again, so once again I kicked in to overcome mode. I drove 70 miles to the hospital about 6 weeks later, and found her in the hallway. We chatted for a minute or so. I decided it was now or never, so I ask her out on a date. She said she would love to, BUT she had promised to take her 2 boys fishing on Saturday. I then told her I would take them all fishing on Saturday. I expected a firm NO, but instead got a ‘sounds like fun, it’s a date then’ from her. I drove 70 miles back home on top of the world. That date to go fishing turned into me taking them all out for pizza afterwords. We talked on the phone and by internet until Thursday night. We found out about each other, and decided it was not a problem to keep seeing each other. I went back on Friday evening to take her out on an adult only date. We had a nice dinner and I took her to go pickup her 2 sons. On the way to her home, the youngest son who is autistic, ask me a very strange question. He said this “Are you going to be our Daddy?” That cute blonde turned bright RED, put her hand on her mouth and muttered “O bloody hell”. I just grinned and kept driving. When we got to her house she sent the boys in to get ready for bed, and looked at me and said, “I guess your not coming back are you” I told her that I was, and I would see her and the boys around lunch time tomorrow, we were all going fishing again. I gave her a kiss, jumped in the car and headed home. That was our only date without the boys. After about 4 months of 140 mile round trip drives on Friday and Saturday, just to take her out, I asked her marry me. I expected a yes and got a yes. 2 months later we were married. Our honeymoon was the second date when we were alone. 20 years difference in our ages were nothing to us, we just did it and never looked back. Yes there is a lesson here. Together we both, adapted to each other, improvised our dates to include 2 boys, and overcame my private hell and her baggage from her 1st marriage. My wife has been by my side from the beginning, without us knowing how our lives would change from this chance meeting in the hospital. I know she was at my side if I have been sick for a while, it’s just her. You my friends, must remember, there is nothing you can not do in life. If you are having health problems, family problems, legal problems, problems at school or life is just getting you down, look past it and set your goals, want it bad and go for it. It is inside all of you, you just have to let it out. I have PM a lot of my friends. Some have told me about their lives, their hardships, and their dreams. I have told them to never give up, to always give it their all. I always wondered why I lived through ‘Nam. I had a while to think about it over when I was locked inside this body and couldn’t talk, and I believe I have an answer. I was taught that God never gives us more then we can handle. It might look like we will never overcome the problem, but we can. Then I decided he wanted me to live a little longer, to let others know that the ability to adapt to what ever happens in life, the ability to improvise to reach your goals, and the ability to overcome anything between you and your goals is inside of you. It always has been, you just need to look deep inside and bring it out. Once it is out and you will see how strong you really are. NEVER and I repeat NEVER give up your dreams and goals in life. You are strong enough to overcome anything. If you think you are not then ask your friends right here in Godville to help you. It will amaze you how strong you all are together. Together you are unstoppable. Now it is time for me to tell you this. Do not morn for me. I didn’t give up, I just moved on to a new challenge. I know it will be hard to be without my wife, family and friends, but once again, God never gives me more than I can handle. Besides I will see my family and my friends again. I do hope it will be many long and joy filled years for all of you before I do see you. But when you remember me, do it with a song in your heart, and know I am watching over each and everyone of you. You see, by now I know who you really are. When you do reach those Gates, I will be there to welcome you, and tell you a job well done. I am glad for the tech we have now. It allowed me to say good bye to my friends, and hopefully teach you an important lesson in life. I wish you all a good life, it will be bumpy, and full of hardships, but you all have the ability to overcome it. Live long my friends, and enjoy the lifelong friendships you have the chance to make here in Godville. Your friend and protector forever -—- Devildog
