Sixteen years of gods. Sixteen years of puns. Sixteen years of two devs stubbornly updating the game while the rest of the world kept chasing yet another next big thing.
Thank you. Seriously. We are grateful for every deity who’s ever logged in, encouraged their champion, or submitted an idea that made us laugh. You are the reason this place still exists.
We’ll be straight with you: the community has been quietly shrinking. Not dramatically — but enough that it matters. Godville has always run on the strength of its players, and the best gift you can give us at 16 is introducing someone new to the game.
So here’s our birthday ask: tell someone about Godville. An invite, a post, a mention somewhere where actual humans gather — it all counts. The game doesn’t advertise itself. It relies entirely on people like you deciding it’s worth passing on.
To make it easier: every god gets 16 fresh invites today. And this year, gift birthday charges are tied to it — send an in-game invite by email (preferably to a real human who might enjoy watching a clueless hero), and you’ll get a pack of godpower charges immediately. Do it three days in a row and collect three times over. (Just make sure that your hero is not in a duel or adventure, otherwise the gift won’t arrive.)
(If you have no one to invite, you can type a made-up email address. We’re not going to judge and you’ll still get the gift. But if there’s someone out there who might enjoy this ridiculous game, this is a good moment.)

Happy 16 years of gracing the world with your existence, Godville! Thank you so much for such a lovely app. Been playing this for 11 years now, introduced my little brother to it very shortly after I joined, and I still love logging in. Unfortunately, I don’t have any friends or otherwise family to send it to or recommend to, but I’ll see if I can convince my husband to play, he’s just usually so busy as is, but I know he likes the comedy of stuff like this. I want this game to survive and thrive! Thank you again, Devs, for all your hard work and dedication, it hasn’t gone unnoticed or unappreciated! 💖

Wow, so amazing to see so many old timers posting responses, and great to see some newcomers too. I’m just back from a long vacation and it was my first real break from Godville in over a decade. My long time pet of 5.5 years also lost his levels, so my main tie has been severed. I will likely be semi-retiring, though I’ll be back now and then to still submit ideas, LOL~ (some habits die hard)
