Sixteen years of gods. Sixteen years of puns. Sixteen years of two devs stubbornly updating the game while the rest of the world kept chasing yet another next big thing.

Thank you. Seriously. We are grateful for every deity who’s ever logged in, encouraged their champion, or submitted an idea that made us laugh. You are the reason this place still exists.

We’ll be straight with you: the community has been quietly shrinking. Not dramatically — but enough that it matters. Godville has always run on the strength of its players, and the best gift you can give us at 16 is introducing someone new to the game.

So here’s our birthday ask: tell someone about Godville. An invite, a post, a mention somewhere where actual humans gather — it all counts. The game doesn’t advertise itself. It relies entirely on people like you deciding it’s worth passing on.

To make it easier: every god gets 16 fresh invites today. And this year, gift birthday charges are tied to it — send an in-game invite by email (preferably to a real human who might enjoy watching a clueless hero), and you’ll get a pack of godpower charges immediately. Do it three days in a row and collect three times over. (Just make sure that your hero is not in a duel or adventure, otherwise the gift won’t arrive.)
