Hero's Chronicles

Chapter 1

“Welcome to your new home.” Rose rolled her eyes as she was lead into cell number 2599. “Have fun in prison.” Said the other guards. They both laughed and walked away leaving her alone in her little cell.

The cell floors and walls were made out of cold, hard metal. A small bed, which was also made out of metal, was lying on the far right of the room. A small window with metal bars was located opposite  of the bed. The whole room was extreamly small.

Rose sighed as she sat on the hard metal bed. I hate this town. She thought to herself. Rose looked out of the window and up at the sky towards the sun. Not much longer now, they should be here any minute.

Rose whipped her head around as she heard several screams coming from somewhere in the building. What?! They shouldn’t be here yet! It needs a few more minutes to kick in! Rose though, she jumped off of the bed and looked out the window. There wern’t any flags, any mobs, there was ‘t anything going on outside. Heros were just walking by like nothing was wrong.  ”NO! Please, no!” Rose turned from the window and looked towards the door. “Just tell us what we want to know and you can live.”  I know that voice. Rose thought to herself. She kneeled down and peered through a crack in the wall.

A guard was laying  opposite from Rose’s cell. Two men were standing on either side of him, their faces hidden. Another man stepped in front of the guard, “Don’t make me ask again.” He said. His voice was scary calm. “I…I don’t know what your talking about.” “The girl.” “What girl..” “The child of  Dark Star, Rose.”

White Star. Rose whispered the name of the leader of a rival gang know as the 22 stars.  They’ve been the enemy’s to her father’s gang, T.E.S or The External Souls.

How did he find me? A loud thud came from outside of her cell. The two men who were standing next to the guard now held him up against the wall by his arms.  The guard sweat Dripped off of his face as he lifted his head up to White Star. “I swear upon my life I have no clue what you are talking about.” “We’ll see about that.” White Star held out his hand to one of the men holding up the guards arm. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a short dagger. White Star took the dagger from him and held it up close to the guards face. The end glinted in the sunlight, showing off it’s sharp point. “Now let’s try this again.” He pressed the knife up to the gaurds neck causing him to make a harsh chocking noise.  ”Where is the girl?” “I..I don’t know, please don’t I have a family, a wife and daughter you can’t do this!” The man’s voice rose higher with panick. “Watch me.” At his words White Star Pulled the dagger back and, jabbing it foward stabbed him in the stomach over and over again. He stepped back giving rose a clear view of the guard. A mouthful of red blood dripped from his mouth. His blood completely soaked the ground creating a pool of blood. The two men beside him dropped the guard  and watched as his body slowly fell to the floor. The guard fell with a loud moan as he hit the ground. The two men walked over to the guard as he slowly bleed to death. “No.” They turned at White Star’s command. “Let him suffer.” Was the only thing he said as he turned around and walked back down the corridors. “Come, we have a child to find.” The two men glanced at each other and smiled sending shivers down Rose’s body. They followed White Star and Rose waited until there footsteps faded into the distance.

I need to get out of here.” Rose thought to herself looking around for means of escape. She saw none and began to panic when suddenly a clicking sound came from the door. Rose turned around ready to fight even though she knew she had no chance of winning. A man stepped into the room. Rose’s face light up with as she recognize the man standing in front of her. “Dad.” She said running up to him. “Come, we must hurry.” Rose stopped, all of the happiness drained from her face. She did everything he told her to do, and he still wasn’t proud of her. “White Star and his men are here.” Rose blurted out at her father. “I know, we ran into a couple of them on the way here. No one was hurt but we have reason to believe that White Star may have planted a bomb himself within Godville.” “But dad.” Black Star turned facing her, eyeing her with his evil stare. “Sir, Why would a bomb be a threat?” Rose knew that the bomb wasn’t in danger of going off soon otherwise White Star wouldn’t be here, and besides they were already going to blowup have of Godville anyways, so what’s the big deal? “White Stars bomb is on the opposite side of ours.” Rose heard hesitation in her fathers voice as he spoke of his brother. “So you mean instead of blowing up just half of Godville, all of Godville will explode?” “Yes, which is why we must hurry. We cannot afford to wait here any longer.” He turned and walk with long strides, Rose had to jog to keep up with him.

Dark Star was twins with White Star. Her father and her uncle used to run the gang together, But then for reasons unknown White Star decided that only one of them could rule over Godville. Of course each of them wanted the role. As a result The gang split into two and it’s been that way ever since.

Rose and her father raced down down the corridors, neck to neck they ran. Her father suddenly halted and held up a hand, signaling for her to be quiet. She stopped and strained her ears, it wasn’t long before she heard voices. Luckly they seemed to be heading in the other direction. Ready to continue she picked up her foot and prepaired to start her jog again when suddenly a sound sounded above her head. Rose looked up and listen, there it was again. It sounded like a ticking noise, and it was getting faster. She looked at her father and saw the fear in his eyes. “Run.” She didn’t need to be told twice. Rose and her father broke into a sprint desperate to escape the bomb implanted above them. They eventually reached the door, Rose yanked it opened and ran out only to find White Star waiting for them.

“Brother.” Her father said, his voice was full of hatred and anger. “Going somewhere Black Star?” Her uncle asked smiling in his twisted way. “Yes, and if you would like to continue living, I suggest you do the same.” “Why the threat Black Star? I was only making a civilized Conversation.” Black Star took a step towards his brother. “Move White Star.  Don’t make me do something that I don’t want to do.” White Star’s eyes lowered making him look even more evil than before. “Challenge accepted.” He said, pulling out a really long sword that was hanging on his waist, her father did the same. Before Any of them could make a move a loud explosion came from behind them. Ross looked up and a huge chunk of the building coming right at her. She dived and rolled out of its way just in time before it crashed to the ground, spraying dirt everywhere. Rose looked around for her father, but blinded by the dirt, she found White Star instead. The look of surprise on his face was unmistakeable. “So he didn’t plant that bomb. But if he didn’t do it then who did?” There were only two gangs in Godville. Her fathers and her uncles, she knew it wasn’t her father who planted the bomb, and by the look of White Stars face it wasn’t him ether. She felt a hand grab hold of her arm. She turned to see her father standing behind her. “Quick, we must leave before we are visible again.” He whispered to her. He turned and started walking towards the mountains, with her following close behind.

Once they reached the mountain they went through the secret entrance that was hidden by some trees. “There back!” Someone yelled. Suddenly her fathers guards ran over to him to protect him from the crowed that was forming around them.  ”Sir, are you alright? We didn’t hear any explosions.” Rose glared at a man who had shoved his way through the crowed, and was now standing next to her father. “Yes Zero. I am well. We have much to discuss, but not here.” He gestured his hand towards the crowed. “I understand sir. Shall we call a meeting tomorrow?” “We shall.” Her father slowly nodded his head, showing Zero that he was dismissed. Zero nodded back, siganaling that he had got the message, and walked back into the crowed.

No one knew Zero’s real name. Only her father knew, and it’s not like he would ever tell her. Zero was tall like her father, and well built like him to. Zero had pitch black hair that hide his green eyes from sight. Zero was her fathers “right hand man”. Zero was respected feared by many. Many argued about rather or not he was the right person for the job. She personally thought they would do much better without him.

Black Star walked to a building on the edge. He walked in with Rose right behind him. As soon as they stepped foot in the building, her brother greeted them. “Are you two alright?” “Yes, we are fine. Where there any problems in my absents?” Fang shook his head. “Good, I am proud of you son.” Fang smiled and nodded. Her father walked away heading towards the meeting room. Rose watched him go sadly. “Rose, are you ok?” Rose looked at the ground trying to avoid her brothers eyes. “He ignored me. He didn’t even thank me. He didn’t..” Rose couldn’t take it anymore. Warm tears streamed down her face. Her brother hugged her, which only made her cry harder. “Don’t cry Rose. Dad does care. He is proud of you. He just doesn’t know how to show it.” Rose let go of her brother and looked up at him. She couldn’t see her father ever being proud of her, but deep down inside she could see truth in her brothers words. “Thanks Fang.” She said sniffling.  ”Hey, what are big brothers for?” He smiled and she smiled back.

Fang looked a lot like her. He had dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes. But Roses hair was a lot longer than Fangs. His sometimes covered his eyes. Her’s came all the way down to her waist, her bangs covered her right eye. Fang was taller than she was, but he was also older. She was 16 and he was 17.

“Come on. I have a surprise for you.” She looked at him questionably. Close your eyes. “What?!” “Just close them.” “Fine” She put hands over her eyes and let he brother lead her around. After a few minutes her brother stopped her. She heard the sound of a door opening. “Ok, open them.” She took her hands off of her eyes. “Rose!” “Savannah! Evelyn!” She ran up to her best friend and her cousin. “Savannah<img />” She ran up and hugged her friends.

Savannah’s been her best freinds for as long as she can remember. Evelyn, her cousin,  decided, on the day that White Star and Black Star split the gang, to go on Black Stars side. No one knew why.

“I missed you guys.” “We missed you to.” Savannah said, smiling. “Well come on now! Don’t keep us waiting! Tell us what happened!” Evelyn said. Everyone leaned towards her as she shared her story.+ It’s great to be back.+ she thoughed to herself.
