Hero's Chronicles

The birth of Rusty Link: Once upon a time, in a strange land known as Hyrule, a hero was deciding how he should save the world today. He thought “Why not take the day off and rid myself of all my negative traits?”. So, he went to the Sacred Realm, and asked the Goddess Hylia if she could help him accomplish this. She turned his very existence into a chain, and rid him of the one, rusty link. The goddess then sold that link to an unsuspecting young god at a live auction. The young god soon realized his mistake. He tried to turn the rusty link into enough Godpower to create his own hero, but was unsuccessful. So, he created the hero Rusty Link and hoped he wouldn’t make a complete and total fool of himself. One can only hope… (The Legend of Zelda reference)

Discovery and the Beginning

Wait, what is this? Who knew there was a place like this in the back of my diary? Its labeled ‘Chronicles’. Well, I might as well write stuff that’s happened so far. When I was born I was pretty clueless. I ended up standing in a strange, old temple fully clothed. The priest there told me I was created by my god and was supposed to be a hero. When I asked him why I didn’t have a say in my occupation, he said that was the least of my problems. He also told me that my god’s name was Tet 2 and directed me towards the Capital of Godville.

Beer, Beer, and More Beer! Oh, and Temple Building

After arriving in Godville, I was told that it was happy hour at a popular bar. I didn’t know what a bar was, but decided to go anyway. When I walked in, I spotted a man polishing mugs. I asked him what this place’s function was. He said “Why, to sell beer to heroes and heroines who are resting after long, hard battles!”. I told him that I was just born. He said “You usually need coins to buy beer, but I’ll give you a mug on the house!”. I accepted his offer, and didn’t regret it. Somehow, he ended up giving me 10 mug-fulls, and everything got foggy after that. Somewhere along the line, I recall a man telling me he was half-way done with his temple. I asked him what he was talking about, and he said “Every hero and heroine wants to collect 1,000 gold bricks and build a temple for their God or Goddess!” I asked him why my God deserved such; he barely did much of anything for me. The man whispered in my ear “Keep your voice down, the gods are always listening, and if they hear you insulting them, you’ll regret it!” So, with that, I decided to do start build a temple. (Current Gold Brick Count: 439- 43.9%)

Pantheons

It was a while before I found the pantheons. I was wandering around a Los Adminos church when I stumbled into a glowing room. There was a screen floating in mid-air with the pantheon rankings. I regularly check them now, and aspire to join the top 30 in the Pantheon of Duelers and become get Dueler, 2nd rank before the end of this season.(Current status: barely unsuccessful)

Joining “Blue Feather”

When I first became level 12, the Almighty One said in a booming voice “Join Blue Feather!”. For some reason, I obeyed and started the quest Become the 216th Member of “Blue Feather” Guild. When I finished, Blue Feather welcomed me with open arms! I’m so glad I listened to my Lord that time! (Current rank in Blue Feather: Advisor)

Underground Bosses

One day, my God said “Dig for gold and treasure!”. He had said that many times before, but this time I decided to listen. While I was digging, the hole started caving in. I was caught in the cave in and fell deep into the earth. I stood up and realized that I had fallen into a monster’s lair. I quickly spotted 2 other heroes fighting an over sized mole. When I asked if I could join them, they eagerly welcomed me. It was a hard fight, but we were victorious! I got a gold brick and some coins. The boss even had a secret beer cellar! I am looking forward to my next underground boss fight!

Arena Fights

Oh, perhaps I should add my first arena battle… I had just finished praying to the Almighty One when I was swept off my feet, literally. I was attempting to exit town when an angry shopkeeper saw me and remembered the funny bone I stole from him. He wasn’t laughing. He took a broom and started chasing me with it, when all of a sudden I started walking on air. I was lifted higher and higher! Soon, I saw some arrows pointing in the direction of the arena, so I followed them. When I was directly over it, I began falling… When I landed on the ground, I found myself in the center of the arena. A hero named Leftyyy had just finished a battle and was victorious. He was trying to find another opponent, and thought I had volunteered. I was about to back down when the referee handed me a few items and even a gold brick just for participating! So, I got ready and charged my opponent. The battle that ensued was quite entertaining… for everyone but me. I ended up losing, but vowed to keep trying. I even gave a speech! I still ended up handing Leftyyy everything I wasn’t wearing… After that, I started to get the hang of arena battles. I even got into the top 100’s in the Pantheon of Duelers! (Current rank in the Pantheon of Duelers: 63)

My First Pet

Soon after I became level 18, I started to feel kind of lonely. I couldn’t have much of a conversation with my Lord, and few people in the towns talk to heroes other than the guys in the tavern, and I rarely remember it. After a while, I came upon a ninja tortoise. I was about to finish it off, when it gave the most miserable look in the world. I decided to spare it. I reached a forest that looked quite large, so I decided to put small pieces of blueberry bread down to mark my path. After a while, I sat down for a break. When I looked back, the bread was gone. I began searching for the scoundrel who was responsible, when the ninja tortoise I spared walked up to me blue-purple lips. I made a move to kill it, when it started to rub up against my leg. “Is this what they call a pet?” I wondered, and decided to name him Simba. A little bit later, he went unconscious for the first time. I started sobbing, when the Omnipotent One sent me to the arena. I fought with the strength of my grief, and beat my opponent. He had a ton of gold. When I went back to town, I donated extra money to the priest. He then took some holy water and splashed Simba awake. I thanked the kind man and went on my way. Oh Simba, its so good to have you back! (Current level: 14)

Epic Quests

Shortly after reading (being read to) the Godville Times, I remembered that the moon was apparently in the seventh house. I forgot what this meant, until a random Godville Admin thrust upon me that Epic Quest “Find the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything”. I asked how this was possible and he replied “It is just as possible as all the other strange quests you have been doing, just longer.” I started off on it and traveled for 2 whole days while coming very far into the depths of Godville. Soon I met a sage that said my quest truly was impossible and gave me a large reward just for trying. I guess it was worth it after all! (Epic quests completed: 2, no Epic Quests are currently in progress)

Tips for Heroes in Trouble

Hello pathet- I mean courageous and strong heroes and heroines who just need a little help. Welcome to the Hero Help Center (or HHC for short). If you have non-psychological problems or just want some advice, check here. I’m still a moderately inexperienced god so this section will be updated whenever it needs to be (which will be quite often).

  • When your pet feints, and you have a temple, send to dungeon while praying. Your hero(ine) will resume prayers and revive pet.
  • When you usually send in to the arena afk, wait the 3 turns to encourage of punish at least once. This will allow you to defeat almost all other afk-ers, just watch out for backfires.
  • When you rarely complete dungeons because of afk allies, use your guild council or friend chat to find people who also have temples, and arrange a time that 2 or more non-afk people (including you) will send in at. There is also a thread under the Main Square forum for this purpose. At least 2 hero(ine)s must be alive at all times to continue in a dungeon (excluding during boss battles). You can use the same system for getting allies for underground boss battles, though you won’t have to worry about your ally fainting.
  • When ever you get a quest to join another guild in which you do NOT want to join, simply send the god voice command “Abandon quest.” Also, to join a guild, tell your hero(ine) to "Join “insert guild name” guild." Or, you can even make a guild by commanding to "Create “Awesome name for a guild” guild."
Underground Boss Fighting
  • Send the voice command “Dig for gold and treasure!” every minute or so. When the hero gets a digging related diary entry that seems like he found a boss lair, stop.
  • When (and if) you get matched, figure out what the boss’ abilities are, then click on them to open the godwiki page on bosses if you don’t know what the boss’ abilities mean.
  • Watch your health- if it starts getting below 100, begin using punishes or encourages. If the boss has 200 HP or so and at least 1 ally is still alive, you will probable make it unless one of the boss’ abilities is “Explosive”.
  • Be careful when using Influences- if the boss is “Faithless”, he won’t be damaged by punishes, if he is “Leeching”, he will also heal if you encourage, and if he is “Deafening”, your hero(ine) won’t hear voice commands. Also, an “Enlightened” boss will reflect some punish damage back as well as restore all of your godpower at the end of the fight if you beat him.

If you have a question that you still don’t know the answer to, look at the FAQ or post on the “Gameplay questions (if FAQ doesn’t help)” thread in the Main Square forum.
