Hero's Chronicles

Name Changing

ShUhFP had consulted the Godwiki archives, soon learning that his hero’s name was not only able to be seen by anyone… But also inappropriate. “Oops, I hadn’t realized how involved everyone is. You’d better change your name…” “Really, why did you name me that in the first place!?” Was Alucard’s reply. The God stayed silent, instead giving the winds a small push for the young hero, influencing them to travel to Godville. Grumbling, Alucard walked down the road. After a long day’s travel, ShUhFP spoke to his champion again. “Listen, I took your name from inspiration, believe it or not. Funny as I found it, it also did have its roots in a man who I find to this day to be great and powerful.” Alucard stopped for a bit, trying desperately to understand his God’s words. While it hurt his brain, he did manage to comprehend it. “I am sorry, my Lord. I hadn’t realized your full purpose, as I should have.” A warm feeling flowed through Alucard, and ShUhFP reassured him. “My precious child, I too apologize. Your name was, even if funny… Rude, as well. I can’t count how many times I heard those merchants mocking you. But! I have a new name, to make all who hear it understand your power, my power, and the respect it deserves.” Alucard bent to his knees, stretched his arms out, and allowed the boom of his name to echo throughout his being. Alucard.

Chapter 2, I Guess

“Hello there.” Came a gentle rumble from the breeze. It had been years since ShUhFP had made his presence known, longer still that he cared enough to continue Alucard’s chronicles. Indeed, many epic deeds had transpired even in the time ShUhFP had once again welcomed Alucard with his presence. Admittedly, the energy which radiated within Alucard now was certainly different than the God he had pledged himself to all those years ago. Even still, anger boiled within Alucard. ShUhFP had neglected him, after all. In spite of the many, many insults that came to mind, Alucard remained quiet, persistent with his current quest. “It has been a while.” Came the gentle rumbling once more. “I see your journey has taken you on yet another epic.” Epic? What was “epic” about getting a bird’s-eye view of Godville? ShUhFP had always spoken to him in such weird ways, on those rare occasions he did speak. “I’d say.” Was all he could muster back. “Why have you returned?” “You have done well, very well, under my passive guidance. The time for that silence has passed. Now, I wish to observe you more closely, and aid you in your Divine Purpose.” With that, a gentle breeze carried Alucard further and closer to his current goal, and his ark to further completion. Even after all the time that had passed, a warm comfort came over him, and he said: “It’s good to hear from you again, most Righteous One.”
