Hero's Chronicles

Aliana Meadowguard was a simple Elven farmer until the day she felt the presence of a friend denied, the presence of her new god. Her natural strength, much more than that of any normal Elf, made her a natural warrior. She fights to find her god, so that she may finally make a friend.

For three days Noctilionidae watched as his heroine spent all her gold on golden bars, new equipment, and skill upgrades. He watched as she avoided the bar, the brothel, gambling, carnivals, ice cream parlors, everything. He screamed at her to stop every second. Every gold piece given for a new weapon, every coin spent in prayer to him, every bar made from the gold, was a gold piece more wasted than if she had spent it on beer. It was a waste because she avoided giving gold to the one thing that mattered. A vet for her unconscious Rocky Raccoon, Pilot.
At 9:16 A.M., on May 21, 2016, Pilot the Rocky Raccoon rose from his third day of unconsciousness without the will to fight any longer. For the past three days, Noctilionidae had been pushing Aliana to heal her little pet. He took advice from any God willing to give it on how to force his heroine to heal her little friend, but nothing he could command of her could force her to take Pilot to the vet. He had her raise the funds necessary multiple times, and each time it was wasted. On any other day, he would’ve smiled to see the shiny new gold brick, would have congratulated his heroine on haggling for the price of a new helmet, but these three days he only felt a sinking feeling in his gut from seeing those new items. He helped her to defeat multiple boss monsters, had her dig up any treasure she could, forced her to fish until he ran out of Godpower, and every time it was all for naught. When Pilot healed himself, when he woke up, dead to the world, Noctilionidae felt new emotions towards his heroine for the first time. Rage, contempt, disgust, and most of all, disappointment. Aliana had never disappointed him before, he loved her in all of her failings and flaws, but to turn her back on her furry best friend of 3 months and 2 days was just too much. When Pilot had come back on his own, knowing that Aliana didn’t care as much about him as she did a shiny new brick, he broke down and Noctilionidae could feel his pain. The world around Aliana shook as Noctilionidae screamed down from the heavens at her, berating her for the thoughtless way she had treated Pilot. He screeched insult after contemptuous insult at his heroine, using every bit of power he had to tell her of just how awful she had been. Noctilionidae knew Pilot deserved better, that he deserved to be let go so that he could find somebody to truly care for him, and he demanded it of his heroine.
At 2:33 A.M., on May 22, 2016, Aliana let Pilot go, on request of her God. May his life be filled with sunshine, and his new journey be unburdened. Noctilionidae will always watch over you, Pilot. We love you.

6:13 A.M. July 16 2016, Olwyn the Biowolf lost his will to fight. He had only been questing with Aliana for 1 month and 22 days, and yet it was enough for him to have seen too much. We can never give him back his fighting spirit, but we can give him back his life.
I’m so sorry Olwyn, we love you.
At 7:57 A.M. on July 17, 2016, we let Olwyn go. He disappeared into the other dimension, not wanting to see our own for a while. May both worlds treat you well, and let you feel my love no matter where you are.

9:07 P.M. October 10 2016, Sven the Stripeless Zebra arose from a painful, unnecessary knock-out without the will to fight anymore. All 15 levels of his training were forgotten and his body was soft, as well as his mind. His hooves were tired, his legs were weak, and his soul no longer had room for Aliana.
6:40 A.M. October 11 2016, Sven was let go into a bright meadow, where other Stripeless Zebras played. He did not look back. Aliana smiled as she watched him race back to his own kind, jumping and braying as his soul began to heal. Aliana left her pet, tearful, but hopeful. The sun shone brightly, warming both their skins with Noctilionidae’s love. A final goodbye was whispered into the wind, and the wind sang of remorse. Goodbye Sven, we love you.

1:32 A.M. July 17 2017, Behemoth the Solar Bear rose from a bout of unconsciousness after bravely taking a final blow for Aliana. His strong bear will was gone, and he could barely hold his heavy form up. Despite his 9 months and 1 day of service and companionship with Aliana, he blinked at her with blurry eyes, unable to recognize the warrior. His senses were dull and he was confused, but he trudged along her side all the same. He had nowhere else to go.
4:30 P.M. of the same day, Behemoth was taken to a Solar Bear sanctuary to live the rest of his life in comfort. As he passed the arches into his new home his steps lightened and his vision cleared. He did not look back at Aliana as he sprinted into his lush new home. Aliana was not offended, she knew that he was ready to enter the next phase of his life. The light shone brightly and warmed Behemoth’s fur with Noctilionidae’s love, as it will for the rest of his life. Thank you for your companionship Behemoth, we love you.

At 4:16 A.M. on March 1st, 2018, Sparky the Double Dragon was released into the desert sands, where he could continue his life, happily digging into the sand and sunning himself on warm rocks. His bright demeanor and undeniable charm would stick with Aliana for the rest of her life, and always would good luck and unimaginable riches shine down onto the sweet little dragon. It is so hard to say goodbye to such a good friend, and excitable companion. Goodbye, Sparky, we love you.

At 2:09 A.M. on August 4th, 2018 Oy the Hyper Lynx leapt from Aliana’s arms into the nearby trees, never to be seen again. As he disappeared from view, the sky cracked and rain poured, thunder and lightning striking near Aliana’s form. Oy had had enough of the domestic life, and was eager to get back to his mischief of causing strange weather happenings and electrical fires. A crack of lightning hit the tree closest to Aliana, leaving the burnt imprint of a heart. There were no hard feelings, she knew. In your road of unmanageable disasters, know always that we love you, Oy.
