02:14 I ran out of space to write, so I bought a new diary. Hmm…maybe I shouldn’t have thrown out my old diary. Now it feels like my history has been lost.
I’ve just survived another fight with another monster. With all of this constant excitement, life is flying by in a blink.
Resting under a tree that has been decorated for the holidays while I wait for my health bar to fill up. Watching one of the Guild Name’s turtles slowly crawl by and appreciating how the reflection of the green, blue, red and yellow blinking holiday lights are dancing on his shell. He looks almost as drunk as me in his arrhythmical staggering and festive light decor.
Flashback / The heroine LisaAlexandra is thinking about her past
11:42 My final blow struck the Pyrophobic Dragon so hard that it exploded into a shower of coins. Beautiful.
After finishing her diary entry, LisaAlexandra wiped blue dragon blood off of her weapon. The realization of the high pitched noise of many buzzing insects and rushing water filled her ears and thoughts. Low but thick and thorny vegetation covering uneven ground made her stumble backwards from her crouched position, causing her to curse as her hands fell upon multiple cacti with her full weight. As the heroine stood and picked the needles out of her palms, she started to survey the distant surroundings. It was a very rocky and hilly terrain covered in unfriendly looking spiky plants and bushes. Groups of trees hugged the rushing river not far from where she stood and just prior and off to the side stood a large, steep hill that would take time to climb if traveling by foot. Lisa removed her cape and tossed it aside, stretching her wings. Allowing herself a quick moment to enjoy the pleasant feeling of the sun on her back, which highlighted the wind-ruffled golden feathers mixed into her deep red wings, she prepared herself with a deep breath, flexed and pressed giving her a feeling of weightlessness as her feet momentarily left the ground.
“I feel thankful that we collided.” The strained voice snapped Lisa back to reality and she was reminded of the fallen knight that the dragon had dropped on her when it decided it wanted two heroes for lunch instead of just one. “Thank you for what you did for me. My name is Nephitus. There is something I want you to have…” He held his hand out with a white orb that the heroine respectfully took. The knight tried to move to a sitting position but painfully cried, falling back to the ground, his metal hands in fists over his injuries which brought new fear to the heroine’s face. “Stay here, my friend. I’m going to see how far the next town is. You need to see a doctor immediately. Try to pray to your god and ask him to heal you.” Before he could protest, hot wind ripped around the knight’s face and he squinted against the dust cloud caused by her take off. He tried to track her beautiful wing movements. The bottoms of her wings were trimmed in rich purples and deep blue-greens. He watched her wings spread high and wide and artistically curl with each stroke. Her colorful wing span was impressive and breathtaking. He tried to burn this scene into his memory and hoped this would not be his last experience with this beautiful creature. He turned back to survey his body, trying to look under pieces of his worn out armor. His legs felt like they were on fire and his torso screamed with every slight movement. A sudden sound like wind whipping through large flags startled the knight and then her winged shadow covered him as she attempted to help him up.
“We need to move right now if you don’t want to be lunch!” The stench of burnt flesh was overwhelming as she dug her arms under his body, trying to lift him. He struggled against the ripping pain, “Please, it hurts too much to move.”
“You may have survived the dragon but you might not be as lucky with this next monster!” Her wings beat furiously in competition with his weight. Dust and debris flew everywhere and choked the air. LisaAlexandra only had an awkward grasp on his body. His torso was lifted but his feet bounced and scraped the ground as she moved forward. Losing half a foot of clearance due to rising terrain, the metal from his suit clanged and scraped as they continued forward. A thunderous noise filled the air like the sound of a bomb, the ground shook and rocks and debris flew in all directions. A colossal scorpion at least 3 times the size of the blue dragon had crawled over the large rocky hill and was descending in their direction. Its tail and stinger threatened, whipped around and struck again causing rocks to shoot in every direction. Lisa steered them to the right in the effort to get out of the monster’s path.
11:59 MEDIC! I need a medic over here!
Pain ripped through all of the knight’s body as he slipped through Lisa’s grip and he toppled into the rocks beneath him. His metal helmet protected him from the blow but the impact caused the scene to purple over. She looked on in horror as pain screamed up the knight’s legs. The scene seemed to continue in slow motion but without clear sight, he was only able to concentrate on dulled audio against the heavy ringing in his ears.
The sight of the quickly approaching beast made her blood run hot with adrenaline which jet-fueled her wings. “Hang on!” Her voice seemed low and far away from him as she struggled but successfully freed them both of the ground, gaining more and more height. The knight’s unsupported head bobbed with each of her heavy wing beats.
“Arrrrraaaghhhh!” Lisa hollered in fear as the scorpion tail whipped in their direction. Their bodies were smashed like a home-run upward toward the tall trees and collided into heavy, barren limbs. Lisa shrieked as some of the sharp branches pierced her wings. The knight fell though the top, weaker limbs and landed rather haphazardly on the larger, lower arms of the trees. The trapped duo felt the vibrations intensify in the tree as the monster continued its approach. The knight’s vision cleared and saw his rescuer wildly twisted in the branches, desperately trying to free herself. He struggled against his severe injuries to bellow, “Please…my god has abandoned me. You must pray to YOUR god for help!” And then in an instant the knight was snatched from the tree by the monster so violently that his body went limp.
12:04 My wounds are healing way too fast, the sunlight hurts my eyes… Am I becoming a vampire?
It seemed that only a moment had passed but when the healing light was gone, the knight and the beast were nowhere to be found. “No!!!” The echo passed and the following silence and feeling of emptiness was crushing.
Back to LisaAlexandra in her present time
Thank goodness my goddess is always there for me. I hope she never leaves me the way the fallen knight’s god left him. On all my travels I promise to keep looking for you, my friend.
02:37 Rested. Now it’s time to get back to business. Off to the bar.
03:58 Saw a squirrel flying backwards. My Goddess, are you drunk or is it me?
