Hero's Chronicles

Here is how my story began.

I was born, i don’t know much about my parents due to the fact I was found in the woods as a child. From what I was told from the old vagabond that raised me before he passed, and from what I remember is that I was traveling with my parents that much I remember, but things get cloudy (hazey) after that. I remember a huge commotion, my mother screaming and my father telling her to take me and run. The only other thing I seem to recall is a voice in my head saying “Hide in the knothole of the closet tree”. As I hid I found an old diary tucked away inside with me, All i could do is hold it as I heard the screams of my parents subside and I fell asleep. The following morning I climbed from within the knothole I found no trace of my parents. I wandered for what seemed like hours till I smelled food and followed the scent of cooked meat. I came across a man sitting by a fire humming some old tune and roasting some type of animal. He seemed shocked to see me and stated that fact kinda rudely as if I intruded on some sacred forest haven. Shock soon turned into awe as he saw the book i was still clutching in my small hands, and reached for it and even took it out of my hands, as he tried to open it, it seemed locked or even glued shut as even with all his might he couldn’t pry it open. As if by chance or even divine intervention, a bolt of lighting struck down out of the cloudless sky struck a tree and just lightly blacked a part of it and it seemed to spell out words Return the book to this boy and raise him well for he is one of the many chosen. Astonished by the fact the man first thought I was some type of demon but then realized that it was One of the many deities of Godville making their presence known. I was asked my name and I told him it is Renzy Talos Greywolfe he introducted himself as the Magus Brandshire.

Years on down the line

Into adulthood the Magus knew I was destined or cursed depending on how you look at it for something great as he knew that our meeting wasn’t by accident. He made sure that I had some type of mediocre weapons training ( There is only so much weapondry a magus would know not like he a battle mage or anything like that). Also made sure I knew the lore of the woods. As I grew order I remembered that old book I found as a child in the forest I retrieved it and noticed that symbols on front a lighting bolt criss crossed in front of a cloud , From my studies with the magus I knew this to be the sign of the God Hazeystorm one of the deities of Godville which has dominion over aspects of weather. I wondered if this was the voice I heard as a child and started to pray to him out of curiosity. To my avail I received no answer but didn’t give up. Being that I was thinking about my past I also was brought back to that day my parents went missing, I often wondered what happened to them and if they are still alive. I often asked The magus was there any type of divining spell he could use to locate or give some type of answer but he always came up blank. From this say on I prayed to my God to give me the answers I needed.

Off On My Travels

I ventured forth as a self proclaimed Hero in search of adventure and information about my parents. I decided that just in case anything was to ever happen to me that I would record my travels into this journal. I left the cabin that the Magus and I called home and ventured into the forest trying to make my way to the closet town for information and a drink of course only to be attacked by a huge Pik-Atyou. I stared in admonishment at the huge, furry, rat like beast in front of me drooling in hunger at me. I had only begun my travels and already i am beset by an impossible task it looks like, I have no armor or weapons to use how am I supposed to get past this creature. As if I am being watched over a beam of light illuminates a hardened tree twig and I hear a voice saying Use this it the best I can do right now. I think beggars can’t be choosers and rapidly pick it up in my hand and notice it is strangely heavy for a tree twig. The beast lunged at me and being this my first battle I cringed in fear and just randomly thrust with my twig. Amazingly I must have hit a vital organ because it let out a loud cry and crumpled onto the floor. Upon closer evaluation I noticed it had some gold coins (strange), I can use this to get drunk at the bar I can definatly use a drink after this.

Arrival in Godville

I soon find a town inhabited by what looks like heros/heroines of some sort and I see them all jotting down thing in their diaries/journals. Made some friends while in town but I don’t see them often in my traels but hey having no friends is worse. I ask around at the tavern of anything that relates to my missing parents, I got various answer from them being eaten by marauding beasts to the Gods spirited them away to control you (me controlled by my god lol that would never happen) Or even Your god is your father (!!!!!!!!), That’s a thought but can’t ponder on it now the beer is getting to me.Tomorrow I will be off to the next town

11:21A man told me that gods don’t exist. I decided to prove him wrong and hold my breath until you showed me a sign. Thank you for making me dizzy and showing me flying, black spots after only two minutes. You truly are great, Exalted One! 17:56: Unintentionally stepped on a sparrow. Really hope I won’t get attacked by a swarm of angry birds.
