Hero's Chronicles

Columba was born to Themis and Zeus, the fourth child by that relationship after her sisters Eunomia, Eirene, and Dike. She was born a goddess of Order much like the rest of her family, but was thrown down from Olympus by the order of Hera, who was jealous of Themis for the children Zeus fathered upon her.

After her fall from the great Mount, Columba’s divine heritage was hidden from her, and for many years she lived among mortalkind. It was only when her lack of aging became clear to herself and those around her that she realized something was different about her.

Believing herself to be a demigoddess, rather than a full-blooded goddess, she set herself up as an Empress among the mortals, deciding that a demigoddess abandoned by her parent god would not be welcome on Olympus. For decades she ruled a great piece of the mortal world, and in time her domain in Order became clear to her.

Realizing that by ruling the mortals she was playing into her domain, Columba left her empire, swearing off positions of power. She was determined to not become like the gods, abusing their divine domains to sow their seed wildly throughout mortalkind and ruling from on high as if power alone made them deserving of authority. She instead took up the mantle of a simple citizen of whatever nation rose around her. Every so often, when her never-changing youth began to become obvious to those around her, she would leave, using a fraction of her power to leave behind a semblance of herself that would live quietly, age as expected, and eventually die.

As mortal society progressed through the centuries, Columba progressed with it. With research into those who had the domain of Order besides her, Columba came to be certain of her parentage and her state as a full-blooded goddess. The goddess determined that her sisters held the three positions of Peace, Justice, and Order that an Order goddess would naturally be expected to hold. This realization lead her to the question of what role a fourth goddess in the same domain could even be intended to fill.

Though she could not be certain, Columba eventually came to believe that her purpose as a goddess of Order was to preserve the balance between Chaos and Order- to use her power over Order to keep it limited and to allow Chaos to thrive where it should. In a way, she came to see herself as a goddess of Chaos who had been given power over Order instead.

After taking this new belief to heart, Columba traveled even more widely than before, even visiting Mount Olympus for the first time. Eventually, she began to take her travels off-world, visiting various planets and even hopping multiversal threads to other versions of reality. After an extensive time traveling, Columba found Godville. Though it reminded her in part of her parents on Olympus, she found the fact that everyone there was a god and thus more or less equal fascinating. After determining that the senses of style were so largely varied from god to god that it would hardly matter what form she took, Columba took her favourite form and a style of dress that had come from 21st century Earth, then set off to find her place in Godville.
